BCOM DEPARTMENT

Report on “MONEY FAIR” 9th January 2017

The Department of BCom traditionally follows a student centred approach to learning whereby it creates platforms for extracurricular activities to accentuate students’ participation and also their practical understanding of the disciplines of Commerce.

In this direction, the Department designed “Money Fair” as an activity for the Academic Year 2016-17. Organized by the TYBCOM (IAPM) students, “Money Fair” was held on 9th January 2017 in the quadrangle of SIES College, Nerul.

As per schedule, the programme was inaugurated at 9:30am by the Principal, teaching faculty and students of the Department. The format of the programme had the 60 registered participants divided into 12 groups, each group consisting of 5 students. Further, these groups exhibited the 12 variant investment plans designed by them; each table drawing the inquisitive attention of both teachers and students alike. However, some of the investment plans like ‘Go Cashless’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Yojana’, ‘Tax Saving Schemes’, ‘Postal Schemes’ stood out among the lot especially because of their association with financial schemes such as ‘Real Estates’, ‘Mutual Funds’, ‘Digital India’ laid down under the Demonetization Policy – the prime economic concern of the recent times in India.

The “Money Fair” thereby became an extensive educative experience for the students and concluded at 2.00pm with a congratulatory note by the Coordinator of the BCom Department Ms. Sugandha Jha.
