SIESONS 2017 – Annual Cultural Fest

SIESONS is a two day annual college festival of SIES (Nerul) college, wherein students from all over Mumbai participate. Since the past 19 years SIESONS has grown massively and soared great heights. This year was no different. SIESONS has set new benchmarks this year in terms of quality events, footfall and college décor. The college was swarming with people on the 20th and 21st of January. There was an estimated footfall of 20,000 people.

The festival started with the inauguration ceremony, where our trustee member Vishwanathan Sir, GST Principal Mr. Patil, Principal Ms. Koel Roy Choudhary, convenor Prof. Sheeja Ravi, Co-Convenor Prof. Rajashri Shinkar and secretaries Rohan and Vaidehi lit the auspicious lamp and summoned the blessings of God.

The theme of SIESONS 2017 was ‘Kaliyug: Awakening of Sins’. Only Evil can destroy Evil, thus our aim was to bring peace in this dark era by using the seven deadly sins in a positive way.

The first day of SIESONS 2017 saw eminent advertisement media personality Mr. Keigan Pinto coming and gracing the occasion of SIESCONS- a Conclave for teachers and students. He enlightened the audience with the talks of his journey as a media person and gave some meaningful piece of advice to the listeners.

The four event committees ensured that every talent got a platform, the charmers had performing arts, the artistic had fine art, the athletic had crossovers and the wise had literary arts. In all, around 43 events were organized by these committees. Renowned artists graced these events to judge the budding talent of the participants. KJ Somaiyya College was awarded the best college for actively participating in the festival.

The festival came to an end with a bang with an enthralling performance by the coveted band SANAM, which certainly left the audience in a daze.

 

 

SIESONS 2016 – Annual Cultural Fest

SIESONS is the Annual Cultural Inter Collegiate festival of SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science & Commerce. Over the years SIESONS has grown exponentially in its Scale and Creativity in terms of Events, Themes and Footfall. Newer initiatives like Concert, Conclave (SIESCON) and Social Campaign have been encouraged over the years. SIESONS envisions achieving newer peaks by introducing Global trends in terms of Events, Footfall, Conclave and Social Campaign. Every year SIESONS partners with brands ranging from multiple sectors like BFSI, FMCG, Healthcare, Hospitality etc.

SIESONS 2016 was celebrated on 29th& 30th of January 2016 with over 70 Events, Workshops and Seminars with a platform to harbour talents and realize dreams with Dazzle of Performing Arts, Colours of Fine Arts, Wisdom of Literary Arts and Stamina of Crossovers.

The festival witnessed a footfall of over 15000 during the two days of intense competition. The theme for this year was “KINGDOM OF DREAMS” by giving a platform to the students to realize their dreams through plethoraof events and the right exposure with industry’s professionals. The festival was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Hon. Jt. Secretary of SIES, Shri S. V. Viswanathan and Principal Dr. Rita Basu.

Participation came in from reputed colleges of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in over 40 events in Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Fine Arts and Crossovers. R. Jhunjhunwala College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Ghatkopar was adjudged the Best College.

SIESONS 2016witnessed SIESCON – A conclave where eminent speakers from diverse fields shared their views with the students. The speakers who graced SIESCON this year included Mr. Naseer Khan, India’s top Motivational speaker, Inspirational speaker& Corporate Trainer. Ms. LaxmiTripathi, a Transgender rights activist. The second day of SIESCON was addressed by Mr. VikramPoddar, India’s first corporate comedian and founder of Bored Room Comedy. Ms. ArunaRaje, Indian film Director and Editor known for her feminist works in Hindi Cinema

The highlight of the second day of SIESONS was apower packed entertaining concert by the famous Singer Composer Duo Sachin Jigar accompanied with Divya Kumar and PriyaSaraiya.

SIESONS was covered by the Times Of India, Hindustan Times, DNA and Navabharat. The Social event of SIESONS 2016 was covered by Hinudstan Times, Times of India and DNA. We also got media coverage from DNA and Times of India.

 

 

SIESONS 2015 – Annual Cultural Fest

SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science and Commerce celebrated its annual inter-collegiate fest SIESONS - 2015 on 6th and 7th of February with more than 40 events organiased by a very enthusiastic band of student committee members. The fest witnessed a footfall of over 12000 during the two days of intense competition. The theme for this year was “CELEBRATING YOU” by giving a platform to the students to express themselves through different events. The festival was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Vice President of SIES, Shri J Santhanam and Principal Dr. Rita Basu. Students from reputed colleges from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai participated in over 40 events in Performing, Literary and Fine Arts as well as Crossovers. SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce, Sion (W) was adjudged the Best College. While all the events had a tremendous response, the music and dance performances were the crowd pullers. SIESONS -15 saw the launch of a new event, SIESCON - a conclave where eminent speakers from diverse fields shared their views with the students. The speakers who graced SIESCON this year included Mr. Jahnu Barua, Padma Bhushan Awardee and National Award winning Film Maker, who urged the students to pursue their dreams and Mr. Biju Thampy, founder of Vision Rescue (NGO) who made them aware of their social responsibilities. The second day of SIESCON was addressed by Mr. Aakash Mehta, a musician and comedian by profession, who told the students how they could make a flourishing and satisfying career by developing their hobby.

The highlight of the second day of SIESONS was a two and half hour concert by the famous Indian Rock Band Euphoria whose lead singer Dr. Palash Sen enthralled the audience with his foot tapping songs and power packed performance.
